Community Excellence Awards

Community Excellence Awards

The Community Excellence Awards are the chamber’s annual recognition program for outstanding businesses, employees, and organizations in the Armstrong and Spallumcheen area. The awards have run each year as a fall gala with networking, food, entertainment, and presentations.

Anyone in the community can nominate. Winners are chosen by an independent panel of judges from outside the local area, which keeps the process fair and free of local politics.

Award categories

Nominations are accepted in nine categories.

The President’s Choice Award is also presented each year, judged by a chamber board representative, a chamber staff member, and a community member rather than the independent panel.

How nominations work

Nominations open each year ahead of the fall event. Any member of the public can submit a nominee in any category.

Strong nominations include supporting documents that show why the nominee meets the criteria. Examples: media mentions, customer testimonials, photos, letters from colleagues or community members.

The chamber publishes the nomination form each year and announces the deadline through its newsletter, social media, and at the chamber office. Contact the chamber for the current nomination form and deadline.

How winners are chosen

After nominations close, an independent panel of judges from outside the Armstrong Spallumcheen area reviews each nomination against the category criteria. The panel determines the winners. Winners are announced and recognized at the annual gala.

Want to attend or sponsor

Tickets to the annual gala are sold each year through the chamber. Local businesses can also sponsor individual award categories. Both options support the chamber and the local recognition program.
