The Twilight Market was held Friday, July 23, 2021, near Okanagan Street and Patterson Avenue.

Post-event notes recorded what worked well and what could be improved for future markets.

Food and seating

The Lobster Pot and haystacks were kept in the Valley First parking lot, where power was available for the Seventh-day Adventist group and the layout worked well for lineups.

Country Bakery worked well in the Nelson’s Glass lot, helping spread food options through the market area.

Tables and chairs from the Legion were also noted as a good fit for the event.

Vintage cars

The report noted six vintage cars at the market. Future notes suggested that several cars could also use the parallel parking spots on Okanagan Street in front of the Armstrong Advertiser.

The report also noted that vintage cars should be advertised as invitation only.

Road closures and parking

Future planning notes recommended having traffic control or volunteers stationed at each road block throughout the evening in case a road block needed to be moved for emergency access.

The report also recommended issuing a media release at least one or two weeks before future road closures.

Parking notes recommended more advance signage so vehicles would be moved from the artisan lot and street spaces before the market.

Vendors

The artisan lot held about 12 vendors, and the report noted that it could likely fit about 16 vendors for a future market.

Promotion notes

The report suggested finding more ways to advertise to older demographics beyond social media, including a possible listing or promotion through Your Country News.
