Visit Tourism Armstrong Spallumcheen
This page explains what the chamber does for tourism and how the Visitor Centre works.
The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce runs tourism for both communities. Tourism is not a separate organization here. It is one of the things the chamber does, alongside business development and events.
The chamber is the host organization
The chamber is the corporate entity behind local tourism. Each year the chamber signs the fee for service agreement with Destination BC. That agreement makes the chamber the host organization for the Armstrong Spallumcheen Visitor Centre, one of the community Visitor Centres in the provincial Visitor Services Network.
The chamber delivers visitor services for the City of Armstrong and the Township of Spallumcheen.
What the chamber does for tourism
- Operates the Armstrong Spallumcheen Visitor Centre at 3005 Wood Avenue
- Signs and administers the annual Destination BC agreement
- Publishes the tourism website for Armstrong and Spallumcheen
- Answers visitor questions in person, by phone, and by email
- Stocks maps, guides, and brochures for the region
- Reports visitor numbers to Destination BC
- Promotes local festivals to visitors and to travel media
- Supports the North Okanagan Shuswap Barn Quilt Trail.
The Visitor Centre
The chamber office is the Visitor Centre. Staff give directions, trip advice, and local recommendations to anyone who walks in.

The chamber produces the visitor guide and the community maps. Printed copies are free at the Visitor Centre, and the 2026 editions are here to download.

Businesses that want printed copies to hand out can email the chamber office.
Summer students run the summer season
Summer is the busiest visitor season. The chamber hires students through the Canada Summer Jobs program to staff the Visitor Centre through those months. That grant is what makes daily summer service possible.
Who funds tourism here
Four funders support local tourism.
- Destination BC, through the annual fee for service agreement
- The City of Armstrong
- The Township of Spallumcheen
- The Government of Canada, through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Grant funding does not cover the full cost. The chamber covers the balance from member dues and chamber revenue. Every chamber member helps pay for the Visitor Centre, the tourism website, and the visitor promotion that brings people into local businesses.
