Caravan Farm Theatre brings The Fall of the House of Usher to the farm this fall

Caravan Farm Theatre’s traditional large-scale show returns this fall with The Fall of the House of Usher, an immersive, site-specific adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s gothic story.

The production invites audiences into the world of the Usher family through a theatrical experience that begins outdoors and moves through the farm site. Caravan describes the show as magical, atmospheric, and funny, with music, design, lighting, and puppetry helping bring the story to life.

The creative team includes adaptation by Estelle Shook and Ryan Beil, direction by Estelle Shook, set and costume design by Catherine Hahn, lighting design by Jillian White, and puppet work by Jessica Hickman. The announced cast includes Ryan Beil, Howard Dai, Teo Saefkow, and Jamie Tognazzini.

Caravan Farm Theatre is moving its traditional summer mainstage show into the fall season, with performances planned from late September into early October at the farm in Spallumcheen.

What to expect

The opening scenes take place in the outdoor lobby, with characters entering from the trees and buildings around the audience. From there, audience members take a short music-filled walk to the House of Usher before entering the salon of Roderick Usher.

Caravan’s current show page lists performances from September 23 to October 4, 2026, with weekday and weekend performance times. Weekend matinees are also part of the schedule.
